Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, the froghemoth must hit with its tentacle or tongue attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and immediately inflicts constriction damage. It can attempt to swallow whole a grappled opponent in the following round.
Powerful Bite (Ex): A froghemoth's jaws are extraordinarily powerful. Even though its bite is a secondary attack, it applies 1-1/2 times its Strength modifier to damage done with its bite. Its bite threatens a critical hit on a natural roll of 18-20.
Swallow Whole (Ex): A froghemoth can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of up to two size categories smaller by making a successful grapple check. Once inside, the victim takes 3d6+17 points of bludgeoning damage plus 1d8+4 points of acid damage per round. A swallowed creature can cut its way out using a light slashing or piercing weapon by dealing 25 points of damage to the froghemoth's stomach (AC 15). Once the creature exits, muscular action closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out. A Gargantuan froghemoth's stomach can hold 6 Medium, 12 Small, 24 Tiny, 48 Diminutive, or 96 Fine or smaller opponents.
Partial Electrical Immunity (Ex): The froghemoth is partially immune to electrical damage. Each time it would normally take damage from an electrical attack, it takes no damage but is instead slowed for 1 round.
Skills: A frogheoth gains a +16 racial bonus on Jump checks. In swampy terrain it gains a +8 racial bonus on hide checks.
Haste (Su): A Froghemoth of Legend is always affected as if by a
haste spell. This increases the creature's speed (+30 ft.), gives it an additional attack when taking a full attack action, gives all its attacks a +1 bonus to hit and gives the creature a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. All these are included in its stats above.
Frightful Presence (Ex): When a Froghemoth of Legend roars, it inspires terror in all creatures within 20 feet that have fewer Hit Dice or levels than it has. Each potentially affected opponent must succeed at a Will save (DC 28) or become shaken -- a condition that lasts until the opponent is out of range. A successful save leaves that opponent immune to that monster of legend's frightful presence for 24 hours.
Saves: Each of a Froghemoth of Legend's saves are increased by +3.
