Alternate Form (Su):
An imp can assume other froms as a standard action. This ability functions as a polymorph
spell cast on itself (CL 12), except that the imp does not regain hit points for changing from, and it can only assume the forms of a Medium fire elemental and a gray ooze.
This fiend can shuck its body and take on an incorporeal form. Its body remains, senseless, as if it were in a state of suspended animation. The fiend can roam around incorporeally as long as it wants, but it dies if its physical body is destroyed. Casting dispel magic
upon the fiend's body forces the fiend to return to it immediately. While incorporeal, the fiend lacks all of its extraordinary, supernatural, and spell-like abilities, but gains the ability to move between the Prime Material plane and the Ethereal plane as a free action, and also gains the ability to make a possession attack as a standard action. Its possession attack can be resisted with a DC 14 Will save. An evil creature takes a -2 circumstance penalty on this saving throw, and a creature committing an evil act at the time of possession takes a -4 circumstance penalty on the save.
While in a creature, the fiend can take on the role of Ally, Controller, Enemy, Mutterer, Rider, or Transformer. This Imp generally stays in Controller mode (as above). More information on possession can be found in the Fiendish Codex, the Book of Vile Darkness, the Fiend Folio, or the Eberron Campaign Setting (and possibly a few other places).
